Juneberry Baby: Little Peanut Baby Shower (Blue Elephant:) . . .

So last week we focused on the ladies, and this week we are going to bring it back to the boys with an elephant baby shower in BLUE!  I am so excited to show you this different take on last week's party, and how changing up the hue a bit makes for a whole new style of shower!

Behold, a 'Little Peanut Baby Shower' . . .

This color palette just makes me crazy happy.  I love how the warm orange complements that cool turquoise . . .

And this fabric scrap wreath is just phenomenal, don't you think?

How about that fabulous turquoise elephant?  Sigh . . .

I am so in love with this handmade paper bunting . . .

Oh dear, there's even cake bunting . . .

Who knew a border of tulle could be so charming?

Cake push-ups.  That's right, CAKE PUSH-UPS!  We are definitely going to need to talk more about these . . .

Did you just catch a glimpse of those orange circus peanut favors?  Adorable.  I didn't think it was possible to find a match for our Pink Elephant Baby Shower that we featured last week, but I do believe we have made it happen!  Thank you to Kara's Party Ideas for bringing us this stunning baby shower, and stay tuned for a full line of Elephant Party Printables, available in our Etsy shop soon . . .

Strawberry Cupcakes & A Free Pink Elephant Printable, Hooray!

Today you are in for a real treat . . . a sweet treat with these delicious Strawberry Cupcakes, a flavorful adaptation of the Sprinkles version brought to you by Cate's World Kitchen.  And as an extra special bonus, you will find a free printable pink elephant cupcake circle with instructions on how to surprise your little sweetie with a pretty plate of splendid snacks!

Cupcakes:
~ 3 tablespoons strawberry puree (just puree fresh or thawed frozen strawberries in a food processor)
~ 3/4 cup all purpose flour
~ 1/2 tsp baking powder
~ pinch salt
~ 2 tbsp whole milk
~ 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
~ 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) softened butter
~ 1/2 cup sugar
~ 1 egg

Frosting:
~ 1/4 cup soft butter
~ 1/2 cup thawed frozen (or fresh) strawberries, pureed and simmered until reduced by half
~ 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
~ 1/4 tsp vanilla

To make the cupcakes:
(this makes 6 cupcakes but you can easily double this for a dozen and so on)

1.) Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a cupcake tin with 6 paper cupcake liners.  I am absolutely in love with these paper liners:

You can purchase these soufflĂ©/nut cups at Michaels or Smart & Final:)

2.) Sift the flour, baking powder and salt onto a piece of wax paper. Set aside.

3.) In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, vanilla, and strawberry puree.

4.) Cream the butter in the bowl of a stand mixer, and add the sugar. Beat for a few minutes, until light and fluffy.  Add the egg and mix on low until combined.

5.) Add half the flour mixture and mix briefly on low. Scrape down the bowl and add the milk mixture, mixing just until combined. Scrape down the bowl and add the remaining flour mixture. Mix on low, then divide the batter evenly among the prepared cupcake tins.

6.) Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean.  Cool in the pans for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

To make the frosting:

~ Beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla in the bowl of a stand mixer. Add the strawberry puree a teaspoon or two at a time until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.

And cupcakes always look best with pretty toppers, don't you think?

So here is a sweet little pink elephant topper that matches our baby shower from yesterday . . .

For the cupcake toppers, cut out the squares along their border and then punch with a 2” scallop circle or 2” circle punch, or if you prefer, you can cut them by hand or just leave them as squares and attach a long toothpick to the back.

You will get the best results if you use bright white card stock to print your files!

So go ahead and whip up 6 of these delicious strawberry cupcakes and give these printable circles a try.  You will never be able to make another batch without them:) Photobucket

Juneberry Baby: Pink Elephant Baby Shower

Well, now that we have spent an entire week wine & champagne tasting, it's time to switch gears a bit and head back to celebrating the small ones for minute.  And this gorgeous 'Pink Elephant Baby Shower' is such a delightful way to celebrate.  Designed for her sister, who just so happens to adore elephants, by the amazing & talented Kara of Kara's Party Ideas, this Mama Elephant & her baby theme is just ideal for a little-girl-on-the-way shower, don't you think?

So pink & pretty & fun . . . and wouldn't this make an adorable theme for a little girl's birthday party as well?  Or switch out that pink for blue or turquoise and you have a darling baby shower for a boy too!
