Candy Cane Cake Pops!!!

Let's face it, who doesn't love a cake pop?!  None of the guilt of an entire piece of cake and so much fun to eat, these festive & fantastic 'Candy Cane' pops are the perfect treat to take with you to your holiday party or just to enjoy at home while you trim your tree.

If you need help mastering the basics of the art of cake pops, just follow our link & easy DIY instructions here: Juneberry Lane Cake Pop How-to

I recommend going with a chocolate or vanilla cake pop flavor and then covering the outside with crushed candy canes . . .

And if you have already made a cake pop or two in your time, then you can move right on in to the good stuff with this fun tutorial via the Hostess Blog on how to make the candy cane sticks (that is, if you don't feel like trying your pops on actual candy canes . . .)

Here's how you do it:

Candy Cane Cake Pop Sticks

Supplies:
~ glue gun
~ thin, red satin ribbon
~ lollipop/cake pop sticks

Directions:

Wrap the ribbon diagonally and secure both ends with the tiniest dab of hot glue. You can also use clear-drying tacky glue. Seriously, that is it.  This might sound like a lot of work but is actually so very simple and ends up looking gorgeous on your holiday table!

A bit of inspiration . . .

Or you could use the actual candy cane instead . . .

Even these striped retro straws would work (you can order from my FAVORITE retro straw vendor at: Sweet Estelle on Etsy)

Striped and stupendous and just the right fun little twist to get you in the holiday spirit, no?  Hope your week is starting out wonderfully . . . stay tuned for the next segment in our homemade 'green gift' tutorial series tomorrow! Photobucket
