Ice Cream Social Gender Reveals

Holy cow, I have been busy (and I just finished a custom Barnyard Bash printable order so I know where this cow is coming from:)  Our little Juneberry Lane invitation shop has been SWAMPED with orders.  Which is absolutely awesome but completely crazy, so bear with me while I pull it all together (and take care of my wild & crazy two year old and the sweet little 5 month old too:)  5 months already...can you believe it??!

I am stopping by with a new printable for the shop...our very favorite thing in the party world, Gender Reveal cards, are pumping out of the Juneberry Lane Etsy shop like mad!  So here is a new design for you to take a look at.  These little guys just need your tender-loving DIYing (scratch-off stickers right HERE) and they will be all set to mail to friends & family to announce the gender of your baby on the way!!!  Without further adieu...

The chevron option:

Or if polka dots float your boat:

You can purchase these over at our Juneberry Lane etsy shop by following this link right HERE!  And don't worry, I PROMISE we will be back soon with full-time party inspiration (and a TON of new printable invitation options too:)

Tutorial Tuesday: Paper Roll Owls

Well, being that things have finally cooled down for a second and the holidays are on a slight hiatus, now is the perfect time to settle in and have a little fun with a simple, cute DIY project to bring a smile to anyone's face.

And these adorable paper roll owls via The Centsible Life are just the thing to do it!  Costing basically nothing and easy to throw together with supplies you already have (some in the bathroom, ha ha ha!) you can turn a perfectly terrible middle of the week slump around in no time!

Go ahead, line your office desk with these at work, throw a few on your windowsill, or surprise your little one with a few new wise friends waiting on the night stand when they wake up from their nap!  Here's what you do . . .

PAPER ROLL OWLS

Supplies You Will Need:

~ toilet paper rolls
~ scrap paper
~ glitter card stock (or plain card stock brushed with glue and dipped in glitter)
~ foam – white and black (preferably with an adhesive back, but if not, use glue to attach)
~ Mod Podge (regular craft glue will work fine if you don’t plan on sealing your project)
~ Scissors
~Pencil

Directions:

1.) Begin by drawing a half oval at the top of the paper roll, I used a cookie cutter as a stencil for mine.  Cut the circle out and use it as a template to cut an identical one from the back side of the paper roll too.

Don’t throw the cut pieces away, set them aside because you will use these for the wings shortly.

2.) Place two fingers inside the paper roll and cover it in glue.  Roll the paper roll onto the scrap paper then trim accordingly.

3.) Set aside to dry for a bit.  Cover one side of the two pieces you cut off the paper roll in glue and place onto the back of the glitter card stock.  Set aside to dry.

4.) Next, you are going to cut the white and black foam to make eyes.  I used a couple of icing tips to size mine.

5.) Cut out a small beak from yellow glitter card stock.  Attach the eyes, beak, and wings using glue where needed.  Set aside to dry, and you are done.

Some more inspiration . . .

Now you know me, I am always thinking of gender reveal parties....so if you wanted to purchase our Owl gender reveal invitations right here...and throw a little party for your friends & family, one of these little cuties on each of the place settings at the party and filled with blue or pink confetti (and covered on the bottom) would make an excellent way to announce boy or girl, don't you think??  I LOVE IT!!

Scratch-off Gender Reveals!!

One of our specialties over here at Juneberry Lane is definitely the 'Gender Reveal' Party; the perfect solution for parents who don't have the patience to wait until baby's birthday to see if they will be joined by a little boy or girl but still want to make the 'big moment' special.

But sometimes you don't have the time, energy, or $$ to throw a party and you still want a unique way to announce the news...and that is why these sweet little scratch-off reveals are the perfect solution for everyone!

Prompted by several recent custom orders I have done (variations of our Gender Reveal Invitations that can be found in the Juneberry Lane Etsy shop), I thought it would be a wonderful time to show you just how you can get crafty and turn one of our fabulous PDF files into a fun & unique gender announcement!

First off though, take a look at the 'Elephant Reveal' version (coming soon to the shop!) and then check below for an awesome little tutorial from Later Gator Crafts on how to make scratchers of your own . . .

DIY Scratch-off Gender Reveal Cards:

Supplies You Will Need:

* Silver Paint (The cheap stuff from Michaels works just fine)
* Liquid Dish Soap
* Laminate Paper

Directions:

1.)  You can cut the circles out with a circle cutter (we like Fiskars!) or use a Cricut, but if you don't want to spend the time cutting or you don't have a Cricut, you can forego the circles and cut rectangles out of the laminate paper and place a rectangle and place them over the portion of the card that you want scratch paint on.
* If you are using our Juneberry Lane PDF print out, the circles are 1 1/2".

2.) Mix 2 parts paint to 1 part dish liquid.

3.) Once you have a good consistency with your paint, paint the laminate circles. Don't worry the first coat looks thin (like it's not going to work). Let the first coat dry completely and then paint a second coat, it should cover great (If your still a little worried it's not dark enough, keep adding coats).

* If you prefer a darker scratch off, add a few drops of dark blue paint to your mixture (so you won't have to paint as many coats).

4.) When the paint has dried completely, peel off the backing of the laminate paper on each of your cut circles and place them over your 'result' circles on the PDF printout.

5.) Get scratching!!

Be sure to check out the shop when you are ready to order a scratch-off file of your own and expect a version to match each of our Gender Reveal invitations!  Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Ice Cream Social: A Gender Reveal Surprise!!!

(image via Sleek Shindigs)

Okay, I know I promised to have the 'Charlotte's Web' line in the shop before I did anything else, but I was so excited about our new line of invitations that I simply couldn't wait!  Gender Reveal parties are in full swing; taking the place of baby sprinkles everywhere and turning one of life's greatest surprises into a truly magical day surrounded by family & friends!

And as we have swiftly jumped into summer and all of its glory, what better theme for YOUR next Gender Reveal than an 'Ice Cream Social'?!

But first, a bit of inspiration to accompany the goods . . .

The perfect pairing for the traditional 'cut the cake' gender reveal, or you could even switch things up a bit and do something a bit out of the box!  You could make Ice Cream Cone Cake pops with blue or pink inside . . .

How about sharing a sundae with your significant other and at the bottom of the dish finding a pink or blue candy inside?  This would be such a great time as your guests urge you to hurry up and eat so you can get to the surprise at the bottom, no?

Or what about giving all of your guests a cone with a scoop of pink or blue ice cream inside, and covering it with a coating of 'magic shell' so when they take a bite off the top, the answer lies inside!!

You could even pass out Ben & Jerry's style pints of Ice cream and have strawberry or blueberry waiting within... of course, Juneberry Lane would just LOVE to make the custom labels for you:)

Our new line of Invitations; available NOW in the Juneberry Etsy Shop . . .

How much fun is that?  I just can't think of a better way to discover if a little boy or girl will be joining your family than to be surrounded by loved ones and indulging in a scoop or two!!  I just love a good gender reveal . . . Photobucket
